2024 LGBTQ+ Spring Series 1 Pickleball - 2.6 through 3.4 (Intermediate)

Friendly reminder, you are joining a league founded as an inclusive, social, and safe place for LGBTQ+ individuals. We encourage participation for all persons, regardless of sexual orientation or preference - with emphasis on members of the LGBTQ+ community. It is our hope that your team be comprised primarily of those individuals.

TYPE: FLEX LEAGUE

• A Flex League format allows for each of the teams scheduled to play to complete their matches at their agreed-upon location, date, and time.
  

• Six Week Pickleball League with a set playoff date of April 20. Note: All Season matches must be completed before April 17.

FORMAT: ROUND-ROBIN

• Each team plays against all other teams during the season for one match (three games).

SKILL LEVEL: 2.6 through 3.4 (Intermediate)

• 3.0 =
  • FOREHAND: Ability to hit a medium paced shot. Lacks directional intent and consistency.
  • BACKHAND: Avoids using a backhand. Lacks directional intent and consistency.
  • SERVE / RETURN: Able to hit a medium paced shot. Lacks depth, direction, and consistency.
  • DINK: Not able to consistently sustain a dink rally. Not yet developed the ability to control this shot.
  • 3RD SHOT: Generally hits a medium paced ball with little direction.
  • VOLLEY: Able to hit a medium paced shot. Lacks direction/inconsistent.
  • STRATEGY: Understands fundamentals. Is learning proper court positioning. Knows the fundamental rules and can keep score and is now playing tournaments.

REGISTRATION INFO:

FREE AGENT - If you don't have a partner. We'll do our best to find you one.

CAPTAIN - If you already have a partner, then you're free to create your own team.

TEAM PLAYER - If you already have a partner and they have already registered.

TEAM SIZE:

• 2 to 3 Players on a Team are allowed (2 on the court at one time)
• "Extra" Team Player may swap out in between games only.

MATCH/GAME DURATION:

• Play 1 Match consisting of 3 Games.
• Each Game is played to 11 Points, win by 2.
• Maximum Game Point to 15. First to 15 Wins.
• ALL 3 Games are to be played. This will count towards your overall Season Standings.

WHEN:

SEASON PLAY

• Start of Season: Mar 7
• End of Season: Apr 11
• Playoffs: Apr 21
• Teams must complete all assigned matches by Apr 18.

COST: $35 a player which covers

• 1 Franklin X-40 Pickleball Balls
  
• 6 Week Season of organized play
• RSL T-Shirt
• DUPR rating with Rainbow Sports League
• Weekly Pickleball Social at the host bar to meet other players with drink and food specials.
• Organized Playoff
• Awards Ceremony for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd.
• End-of-Season Superlative Awards

Note: Registration must occur before Mar 1 for a t-shirt.

SUBSTITUTES:

• Not allowed for Pickleball
